SightLines has over 10 years in business system training. Our experience has taught us some key lessons:
- Keep training classes short and to the point
- Repetition and change are good
- Two 2 Hour sessions are better than one 4 hour session
- Good Trainers audit user knowledge and system use and return to correct misunderstandings
- User Adoption directly correlates to Good Training
Effective Training assumes that the attendees have attained a decent level a knowledge and skills already. Therefore, our job is to pass on information in a compelling, easy to understand, and easy to rerun format.
Training follows this pattern:
- Employees attend a simple online demo first to introduce concepts and terminology
- An employee group attends a live training session with one of our trainers. Session lasts ~ one or two hours. There may be several sessions per employee depending on their role.
- Employee begin using the system and refer to a customized Procedure Manual to understand processes and their details.
- Employees attend a live one hour audit class to go over areas of concern, ask questions and straighten out new or lingering issues. These sessions are very important for the long term health of the client's system and business. SightLines does not believe that training ends at go-live.
