Why We Started SightLines and Why We Chose NetSuite

We were Oracle consultants for over 12 years, combined. We knew from experience that massive, complex on-premise systems were a drag on business, not an accelerator.

We also knew that large consulting organizations were literally defrauding clients by taking over software implementations. Clients were a target, not a partner. The client and the consultants were not aligned for project success. Implementations were uneven, sometimes unethical. But the consulting firm made money hand over fist, as they say.

We thought we could do better so we started SightLines with the mission of partnering with clients to implement a software product that accelerates their growth. The product was NetSuite. Frankly, we chose NetSuite because it was an integrated suite and we never wanted to write another interface if we could help it. Over time we realized that NetSuite has really good bones, a structure that could support a very interesting business. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

But we did not want to take over the implementation like so many firms. So we adopted the agile method of implementation. We believe very strongly that spending time with the client on NetSuite, working through their business functions in multiple iterations of system configuration and testing is the only and best way to implement software. We like collaboration, concrete examples, informal discussion where everyone feels invited to speak honestly. We do not have enough working years left to tolerate solo effort by software elites, or vague requirement discussions led by experts.

NetSuite is your system. How can we help you exploit it for everything it's worth?
